My mission as a voice teacher is to provide the foundations of good vocal technique for singers of all ages and voice types. I aim to foster a safe and fun learning environment, meeting singers where they're at and creating confidence and autonomy with each voice lesson.

Musical Theatre

Musical theatre is an umbrella term for a genre that contains a multitude of different vocal styles. Creating solid technique and understanding the basics of each style will be the main focus of a musical theatre lesson, with audition coaching and staging added in as lessons advance. Whether you are hoping to sing Christine in "Phantom of the Opera" or Effie in "Dreamgirls", we will work together to find your best and healthiest sound!

Classical/Operatic

Classical or "opera" voice lessons focus primarily on the bel canto method of singing. This is a very old Italian vocal method that is still heavily used today - it focuses on singing "on the breath", creating balanced, expressive sound with smooth phrases and precise breath control. Classical lessons use this as a basis for technique with language coaching in French, Italian, German, and Latin.

About Me

I am a lyric coloratura soprano originally from a cattle ranch in Montana, and am often described as "eccentric" and "boisterously loud" by my friends and family. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance from Central Washington University, where I was fortunate enough to study voice with Professor Mia Spencer, Dr. Melissa Schiel, and Dr, Gayla Blaisdell. I have since participated in DePaul Summer Voice in Chicago, as well as studying with Professor Janeanne Houston in Seattle and Francesca Mondanaro in New York. I have been working as a professional singer for over 10 years now, and have been pleased to sing with such institutions as Tacoma Opera, the Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Lakewood Playhouse, Opera on Tap Chicago, Tacoma Little Theatre, Tacoma Arts Live, the Greenhouse Cabaret, Eugene Opera, Sinfonietta Bel Canto, and OperaBend, as well as The Chicago Carolers and the Dickens Carolers of Seattle. I live in Bend with my wonderful husband Connor and our very silly cat, Cleo. I can't wait to make music with you!
